OBJECTIVE
The general idea behind the DIGITAL on STAGE project is to innovate the performing arts sector across Europe, by fostering the production and promotion of digital performing arts, through the various technological developments that, especially during the COVID-19 era, altered the performing arts sector as a whole. The project envisages a series of activities that will raise awareness and upskill/reskill the representatives of the performing arts sector (including artists and performing arts stages representatives and programmers of such productions) regarding this digital transformation of the sector, as well as will practically support and fund digital productions and emerging digital performers across EU. More analytically, the project has the following objectives:
1.Capacity-building both for stage houses and for traditional performers, to solve the need for know-how and awareness of the new genre;
2.Provision of support on digital performances, through the organization of a cascade funding program to a total of 24 digital performances projects that will be supported in order to finalize production or help post-production distribution/showcasing throughout the project’s implementation;
3.Networking and fostering of collaboration opportunities to solve the problem of artists and programmers not being able to communicate and exchange ideas.
